Dinner: Stuffed Acorn Squash

With three months until the big day, I have yet to fulfill my New Year's resolution: reload my blog with more fashion finds, delicious fare, and much more of my favorite things. So instead of trying to kid myself, I will post when I can. And this delicious dish that I cooked up tonight is definitely post-worthy. After a weekend of eating out, I wanted something with veggies and lots of flavor. The answer: Acorn Squash Stuffed with Mushrooms and Rice. A delicious and healthy meal that was equally satisfying as the friend chicken and waffles I indulged in this weekend. xo

When it comes to jewelry I can be a bit all over the place. Some days I get really into bracelets, other days rings. I also go through fazes where I love necklaces and earrings. Currently, I'm in desperate need of a necklace cleansing. Out with the old {and outdated} and in with the new! Right now I'm digging dainty gold necklaces with small, sweet charms. I'm also craving long necklaces with dangling pendants and vintage accents. What is your go-to necklace? xo

April, May on the mind.

While those months are surely joyous {fresh flowers, weddings, a birthday}, I'm referring to French designer Diane Goldstein's beautifully edgy collection, April, May. With an ongoing passion for art, Goldstein transformed her first love into an eternal one. I'm digging the over-sized sweaters in bold colors, the plaid jacket, and the ongoing blousy look. I will take April, May any time of year. xo

The Best Pumpkin Bread Recipe

Photo courtesy of My Baking Addiction
With Halloween right around the corner and November coming in close second, I've had a major craving for anything pumpkin. I know it's not quite Thanksgiving yet, but with carved pumpkins popping up everywhere, I can't help myself. So I found one of my utmost favorite pumpkin bread recipes and went to town. One of the many reasons I love this recipe is that it calls for a pumpkin pie spice that you can make extra of and store for later use {like pumpkin pie}. This bread is moist, flavorful, and most of all makes your house smell sinfully delicious. xo

When the weather gets brisk and the leaves begin to change colors, I always seem to grab a military jacket. It's my go-to before the hard hitting temperatures call for lined coats. The military jacket is a classic for many reasons... it's eternally chic, whether you throw it over a t-shirt and jeans or tights and a dress. It comes in a variety of styles, fabrics, and colors (I'm loving the navy blue one!). And it's an easy layering piece, without making you look bulky. xo

Homemade Granola

I'm a big fan of granola. Sprinkled on yogurt, immersed in milk or just by itself. Over the years I've found that I've become a selective granola eater... not too sweet, just enough crunch, preferably with nuts. So after many months of reading about homemade granola {and being unsatisfied with the store bought kind}, I took the plunge and made my own. The result? Not only is it incredibly easy, but enjoyable! Find a recipe that fits your needs and add a variety of dried fruits and nuts. I worked off this recipe from Martha Stewart's Everyday Food, but instead of pecans I used roasted almonds. xo

Fashion Inspo: Georgia May Jagger

Photos courtesy of because i'm addicted
She might be kin to Rolling Stones' lead Mick Jagger, but Georgia May Jagger didn't get the vocal gene. Instead she plays up those quintessential pouty lips and big eyes and struts her stuff in the modeling world. Georgia May has appeared in ad campaigns for Hudson Jeans and in spreads for Teen Vogue, British Vogue and so much more. While posing for the camera seems to fit her, her real passion is being behind the lens. We like you both places Miss Georgia May. xo

A typical day off might consist of laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning and long awaited errands. But what is a day off without some down time? I'm a big fan of making a cup of coffee and sitting down with a good book. However, the quality of the book is just as important as the atmosphere in which I read it. If it's chilly outside, I like to cozy up on the couch or an over-sized chair. If I can soak up some vitamin D, I can't resist lounging outside, whether it's at a cafe or my own front porch. Where is your chosen tome zone? xo

I'd like to send my dear readers off this Friday with a few of my favorite things. I'm currently obsessing over loafers, and these are too perfect to pass up. The season of berry picking is coming to an end, but I'm still craving the sweet, sour fruit. I'm in desperate need of a new purse, and I've been all about bees lately, so this clutch made my heart sing. Lastly, I can't get away from sheer blouses, I love how this one incorporates lace! xo

Hump Day: Banana Bread Recipe

When you have hit mid-week and it's looking like those to-do's are catching up to you instead of the other way around, take a baking break. And make THIS delicious banana bread. The great thing about this recipe is that you don't have to use those extra "brown" ripe bananas. You can use the bananas that are slowly getting ripe and it will turn out just as good! xo
