I have a bit of an obsession. My finger nails seem to get as much attention as my daily to-do's. They must be properly cut, cuticles pushed back and trimmed, and most importantly - polished. While I have thoroughly enjoyed the jet black and navy blue winter trends, I'm ready for some brighter and lighter summer shades. While perusing some polish during a mother-daughter shopping trip, I found some nail colors that scream summer fun. With the right bronzed skin, these hues are sure to do the trick.

Braid-licious

With summer in full swing and temperatures rising, I have been craving a stylish up-do. While braids have been making a comeback for a while, there still seems to be an endless array of ways to twists those ends. Whether it's a few small braids pulled back, one long braid or a Danish beer-maiden braid wrapped around your head, these decorative up-do's are sure to attract some attention to that noggin!

Last night, a crusade of couture paraded down the red carpet of the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute Gala. Stars shimmered in gorgeous gowns painted in a variety of hues, from bright pinks to deep dark blues. A few trends that I couldn't help but notice are the bold colors and sparkly princess gowns, circa Cinderella. I might just find myself channeling my inner fairy tale....
